Kygo and Imagine Dragons join forces for ‘Stars Will Align’

Artists crossing over genres for collaborations is not uncommon but few feel so perfect as the coming together of Kygo and Imagine Dragons. Both artists have spent their entire careers crafting stadium-sized anthems and their work together is no different.

When Kygo first emerged, his tropical house productions proved to be an infectious brand of the genre, complete with massive melodies and sing-a-long choruses. As he celebrates his fourth album this year and embarks on a world tour, he releases a new single with a rock band who crafts the same size anthems within their own works. Hearing Kygo and Imagine Dragons is surprising only in that it didn’t happen sooner. Their singles Radioactive, Believer, and Thunder showcase the group’s penchant for massive hooks and radio singles while featuring smooth rhythms throughout.

The two entities are perfect for each other, Kygo can provide his spark of electronic elements and keys while vocalist Dan Reynolds and the rest of Imagine Dragons deliver their iconic percussion and vocals. It’s a match made in musical heaven and will allow fans from both artists to further discover and dive into the other’s catalogs, further blurring the lines between rock and electronic music. The chorus refrain of ‘I know our stars were meant to align’ is perfectly followed by the chanted ‘and I know that’s true’ before Kygo’s production creates the ideal tropical house rhythms to get lost within.
